Monica Aboumrad Gallery

To view the art that represents one of the great mexican artists, Diego Matthai, transports you to a dimension of design and innovation in each one of his artworks.

This is what we found at the art exhibition presented by Monica Aboumrad Gallery, a venue created to promote arts and culture, with the goal and vision of highlighting Mexican artists as well as those from the region.

That is how Diego Matthai’s artwork came to one of the most popular art destinations, Marfa Texas, more than 10 medium size paintings with his own style of different dimensions and color. The format was appreciated and showed a profound language, through perspective and aesthetics with defined strokes that only Matthai knows how to highlight.

These artwork express the artist, are only some aspects which in its format and altogether you could enjoy at this venue Do Right Hall, 110 Dallas St. in Marfa Texas. Additionally you could find other artistic objects as prisms and stainless steel works with the theme of interiorism, decorative lamps. Also we enjoyed a steel Chess set which was very attractive to all visitors.

At the gallery and opening cocktail there was very good attendance that supported this new project by Monica Aboumrad Gallery. Monica Brown Project Director was congratulated for an extraordinary quality and presenting the art master. Definitely attendees were very complimentary of the artwork.

The way Matthai expresses the aesthetics it is essential for his artwork and is how is based the furniture designs which are relevant. Two modern steel chairs made with mexican materials like leather and jute were exhibited. These high quality pieces, have an objective for the artist to show the interior of modern architecture related to the furniture. At the same time the pieces show congruence and aesthetic art.
Matthai was joined by two artists. One was Mauricio Mora from El Paso, Texas which found a way to incorporate two of his big pieces with wooden pieces designed by Matthai; quite a task to find the works of two artists in one idea created by Mora.

Sam Dwyer  from Marfa Texas was the other artist who selected his own style and adapted some hearts by Matthai highlighting his piece inside illuminating boxes, finding an avant-garde design as well as following the roots of the region.

Today Monica Aboumrad Gallery is a model project that for the first time was presented in this region which is innovative promoting art in this region in the South of the United States.
