This is BLING

The Monica Aboumrad Gallery is presenting, together with the Susan Eisen Gallery, “BLING”, a selection from well-known El Paso artist Mauricio Mora’s latest body of 25 works, which just returned from showing with the MAG in Marfa, Texas.

“BLING” runs March 10 to April 1, 10a.m. to 5:30 p.m., at the Susan Eisen Gallery, 5857 North Mesa, El Paso, TX 79912.   More small scale exhibits from his new collection will be staged by the MAG at differing times and El Paso venues throughout 2023.

Mauricio Mora, born in 1968 in Cd. Juarez, Chihuahua, Mexico, began sketching as a child, then studied art at Bowie High School.  At the University of Texas at El Paso, he focused on graphic design and business administration.  He decided, at 24, to follow his natural talent in art.  His round-faced Mexican children – inspired by his own young son and daughter –  brought him media exposure and popularity.  He quickly became one of the most successful young Hispanic artists to come out the El Paso-Juarez area, selling over 1,500 pieces to collectors and art dealers in the US, Mexico, Europe, and Asia.  Not content to rest on his laurels, he continues exploring:  his new works have changed drastically, as he investigates – and invents – different styles and subjects that include fashion design, graffiti, abstract, minimalist, and pop art.  The pieces at the Susan Eisen Gallery explore the fashion world through the lenses of various schools of art, including abstract and pop art.

Says MAG founder/owner Monica Brown, “It is our pleasure to collaborate with Susan Eisen – herself a pioneer in the art of outstanding jewelry design – to present this marvelous compendium of Mora’s work.”
